Ammar Campa-Najjar is a candidate for California's 48th Congressional District. He is an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve and a college educator, teaching at Georgetown University and San Diego State University. He previously served in the Obama administration as a public affairs officer for the U.S. Department of Labor. Campa-Najjar was the Democratic nominee for Congress in California's 50th District in 2018 and 2020, and ran for mayor of Chula Vista in 2022.
