Amy Drayer is a Vashon Island native, having graduated from Vashon High School in 1995. She earned a bachelor's degree from Scripps College. Her career includes six years in politics and organizing in Washington, D.C., where she worked with social change-makers like Gloria Steinem. Drayer has held several key roles on Vashon Island, including executive director of the Vashon Chamber of Commerce and director of the Islanders for Ferry Action group. In June 2024, she became the executive director of Vashon HouseHold, a local housing nonprofit. She is also an incumbent Vashon Island Fire & Rescue commissioner.
