Prior to her election to the House, she served as Mayor of North Liberty from 2014 to 2016. Born in Keokuk, Iowa, and an alumna of Kirkwood Community College, she currently serves on several legislative committees, including Appropriations, Local Government, Natural Resources, and is the Ranking Member for State Government. She is seeking re-election in the 2026 Iowa Primary Election for District 85.
