Anna Stearns is an attorney, small business owner, and a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She worked as a paralegal for 15 years while raising her children as a single mother and attending school at night, eventually earning degrees from AB-Tech and UNC-Asheville. She then graduated with honors from Campbell University School of Law. Her legal and political experience includes working for Representative Brian Turner in the General Assembly and serving as Chief of Staff and General Counsel to Chief Justice Cheri Beasley at the North Carolina Supreme Court. She returned to her hometown of Black Mountain to take over the law firm where she began her career. Stearns is also the President of the Black Mountain-Swannanoa Chamber Foundation and serves on the boards of Black Mountain Savings Bank and Bounty & Soul.
