Anthony Leite is a Lowell firefighter, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and President of IAFF Local 853 who has lived in Lowell for more than 20 years. Born in Boston to an immigrant father from São Miguel, Portugal, and an Irish mother, he grew up in Somerville, joined the United States Marine Corps in 1997 (and reenlisted in 2010), and later served as a Lowell firefighter. He is Co-Director of the Greater Lowell Emergency Services Critical Incident Stress Management District 6 Team and works on fire safety, opioid awareness, dual diagnosis, addiction, and homelessness.
