Art De La Cruz

Art De La Cruz is an incumbent Democratic State Representative for New Mexico’s 12th district, serving until 2027 and seeking re-election in the 2026 primary. A native of Albuquerque, he holds degrees from the University of New Mexico and the University of Phoenix. De La Cruz served as a Representative from 2020-2021 and continuously since 2023. Prior to his legislative career, he spent 46 years at the Public Employees Retirement Association of New Mexico and operated a small business; he is now retired. As a legislator, he chairs the House Transportation, Public Works & Capital Improvements Committee and the Transportation Infrastructure Revenue Subcommittee, demonstrating a focus on infrastructure and public services. He also serves on committees for commerce and military affairs.
