Ashley Hornsby Welch

Ashley Hornsby Welch was born and raised in Hendersonville, in the mountains of North Carolina. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her law degree from William and Mary School of Law in 2003. She began her career as a prosecutor in 2003, serving as an Assistant District Attorney in the 29th Prosecutorial District until 2005. In 2005, she joined the office for District 43 and was later elected as the District Attorney, taking office in 2016.
