Aurora Flores has a long history of involvement with the Manson School District, having previously served as a board member. In 2018, she was sworn in as the President of the Washington State School Directors' Association (WSSDA). Her professional experience includes roles as a paraeducator, community liaison, banking operations officer, school district finance manager, and a state auditor. She currently works as an academic counselor for the Omak School District's WAVA program. Flores holds an Associate's degree in Business Administration from Reedley Community College, a Bachelor's in Business Administration/Accounting from California State University, and a Master of Education in ESA Counseling from Heritage University. She has also pursued doctoral work at Grand Canyon University. She and her husband moved to Manson in 1987 and their four children attended Manson Schools.
