Austin Stubbs

Austin Stubbs is a Republican candidate running for election to the Iowa House of Representatives, District 45, in the June 2, 2026, primary. Born and raised on a farm in Runnells, Iowa, Stubbs emphasizes values of hard work, family, and compassion. His background includes playing and coaching professional football in Europe, followed by coaching high school football in Iowa. He is a self-described outsider and policy champion, advocating for lower taxes, reduced red tape, and free-market reforms to decrease healthcare and energy costs. Stubbs is motivated by a desire to counter what he perceives as a "woke minority" and liberal ideologies that he believes hinder the state's potential. He is endorsed by Americans for Prosperity-Iowa, who praise his focus on family values and cost-of-living issues. Stubbs has also been involved in civic leadership, serving on the Network Against Human Trafficking Board of Directors, as Treasurer for Friends of Iowa CASA & Foster Care Review Board, and as a member of the Polk County Republican Central Committee, and formerly on the Pleasant Hill Library Board of Trustees.
