Barb Wasinger, born July 7, 1958, is an incumbent Republican member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 111 since January 14, 2019. A graduate of Saint Catherine University, she previously served as the first woman Ellis County Commissioner and as a Hays City Commissioner, including two terms as Mayor of Hays. Wasinger advocates for increased funding for FHSU students and K-12 education, reducing burdensome regulations for Kansas businesses, and eliminating state taxes on retirement funds for seniors. Her legislative record includes sponsoring a bill signed into law and supporting measures on disability employment, tax reform, and self-service storage. She is a candidate for re-election.
