Barur R. "Raj" Rajeshkumar is a research scientist and West Boylston Select Board member. He grew up in a farming village in Tamil Nadu, India, and was the first in his family to attend college, earning a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Madras (1989) and working as a post-doctoral scientist at Harvard Medical School and Boston University Medical School. He has worked as a research scientist at UMass Chan Medical School for more than three decades, and has served West Boylston as a Selectman for about 10 years, including on the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, the Central Massachusetts Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Quinsigamond Community College Board of Trustees.
