Ben Brooks is a Democratic politician representing District 10 in Baltimore County. He was elected to the Maryland Senate in 2023. Prior to his senatorial role, Brooks served in the Maryland House of Delegates from 2015 to 2023, representing the same district. During his time in the House, he held the leadership position of deputy majority whip from 2017 until the end of his term. Born on April 23, 1950, Brooks is a U.S. Army veteran and worked as an accountant. In the Senate, he serves on the Education, Energy, and the Environment Committee. He is also an active member of both the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland and the Maryland Veterans Caucus.
