Benjamin Cahoon is an architect and the co-owner of the architectural firm Cahoon & Kasten in Nags Head. He has served as the town's mayor since 2017. Born in Englehard, NC, he graduated from Mattamuskeet High School and earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from North Carolina State University in 1988. Prior to becoming mayor, Cahoon served on the Dare County Board of Education. He is also an avid cyclist and ultramarathoner.
