Bill Gustoff is an incumbent State Representative for Iowa House District 40, first elected in January 2023. He is seeking re-election in the 2026 Republican primary to continue serving the residents of his district, which includes parts of Altoona and Saylorville in Polk County. An attorney by profession, Gustoff holds a JD from the University of Iowa and has experience as a managing partner and legal division president. He has a history of community involvement, serving on numerous non-profit boards like Habitat for Humanity of Iowa and Ruth Harbor Ministries, and as treasurer for the Republican Party of Iowa's State Central Committee. Policy positions include lowering tax burdens, reducing property taxes, eliminating state income tax, and implementing sunset clauses for government programs and regulations to support small businesses and strengthen families. He is married to Sara, an Iowa native, and they live in Saylor Township with their four children.
