He previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 to 2024, where he held the position of Republican Majority Leader. Miguez earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Louisiana State University and a J.D. from Southern University Law Center. Outside of public service, he has worked as an executive in the oil and gas industry and is a competitive shooter.
