Bob Perls is a former New Mexico State Representative (House District 44, Sandoval County, 1993–1996) and former U.S. Diplomat with the U.S. Department of State, serving in Germany, Canada, Pakistan and The Gambia from 2010 to 2015. He moved to New Mexico at age five, attended Albuquerque Public Schools, earned a B.A. in Government from Pomona College and an M.S. in Healthcare Management from the University of Maryland, and has worked as an entrepreneur in healthcare, cybersecurity and renewable energy. He founded the medical technology company Monitech, Inc. at age 24 and sold it in 2008 after 25 years of operation; he also co-founded the Public Academy for Performing Arts charter school in Albuquerque, consulted for a governor on renewable-energy job creation, and ran unsuccessfully for Congress and the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission. He founded New Mexico Open Elections in 2015, serves as the Honorary Consul for Germany in New Mexico, lives in Corrales, and chairs the Forward Party of New Mexico.
