Bobby Kaufmann is an incumbent Iowa State Representative and a Republican, first elected in 2012. He is set to become the House Majority Leader in January 2026, previously chairing the House Ways and Means Committee. A self-employed entrepreneur, Kaufmann is focused on advancing policies to strengthen Iowa's economy and support families. He strongly advocates for "one of the largest property tax cuts in Iowa history" and aims to foster a "new era of cooperation" within the Statehouse. He previously served as a senior advisor for Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign in Iowa. He is the son of the current Republican Party of Iowa chairman, Jeff Kaufmann.
