Brandy Fluker-Reid (formerly Brandy Fluker Oakley) is the Massachusetts State Representative for the 12th Suffolk District, serving parts of Dorchester, Hyde Park, Mattapan, Roslindale and Milton. Born and raised in Boston, she graduated from Boston Latin School, earned bachelor's degrees in social work and public policy from Syracuse University, a Master's in Education from Johns Hopkins University, and a J.D. from Emory University. A former third-grade teacher and public defender with the Committee for Public Counsel Services, she has worked as an organizer and policy advocate focused on education equity and social justice, and serves as Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on the Judiciary.
