Born and raised in Columbus County, Brenden Jones is a lifelong resident of his district. He resides in Tabor City with his wife, Angela, and their two daughters. In the late 1990s, he took over his family's car business, which is now the oldest dealership in Columbus County. He has since started other local businesses, including an auto body repair facility and a funeral home. He earned an associate's degree in mortuary science from Fayetteville Technical Community College in 1994. Jones was first elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives in November 2016 and assumed office on January 1, 2017. He has served as House Majority Leader since 2025.
