Brent Holbrooks was born and raised in Macon County and was elected Sheriff in 2022, sworn in on December 5, 2022. His law enforcement career began in 1999 as a deputy with the Macon County Sheriff's Office. He has served for over two decades in various roles, including lieutenant over civil process, patrol, and with the county SWAT team. His father, Homer Holbrooks, also served as Macon County Sheriff for 16 years. Before being elected, he was the Lieutenant of the MCSO Civil Process Unit.
