Brett Smith

Brett Smith is a Molalla, Oregon resident and the Pacific Green Party's nominee for Governor of Oregon. Born June 3, 1982, he grew up in Hinkley, California, one of eight children, and his family later moved to Kansas when he was in high school. He worked construction and trade jobs across Kansas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, California, Nevada and Arizona, settling on pipefitting and welding. His son was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis in 2001, and Smith went on to develop and patent a medical device to help him manage the condition. He moved to Oregon from Kansas in 2016, worked as a part-time school bus driver in Canby and later as a maintenance director at a healthcare facility in Oregon City, and now lives in Molalla. In 2024 he ran for Oregon's 5th Congressional District as the Independent Party nominee, drawing nearly 5% of the vote.
