Brian Echevarria was born in Miami, Florida, to a family of Cuban and Bahamian descent. Before entering politics, he worked as a financial advisor and business owner. His motivation to run for public office stemmed from a desire to create a better world for his three children. He previously ran for the Cabarrus County School Board and for NC House District 73 in 2022. He assumed office for District 82 on January 1, 2025.
