Bryan Terry is an incumbent Republican State Representative for Tennessee House District 48, representing eastern Murfreesboro since 2015. An anesthesiologist, he chairs the House Health Committee. Born in Oklahoma, he worked in his family's auto salvage business and cared for Oklahoma City bombing victims. In office, Terry championed the HOPE Treatment Act, authorizing ibogaine research for opioid use disorder and PTSD. He also secured a $350 million appropriation for medical education to address physician shortages. Known for conservative stances, he amended the Heartbeat bill and advocates for policies protecting children, parental rights, and restricting foreign property ownership. He is also the only Native American in the Tennessee House.
