Caitlin Donovan

Caitlin Donovan is the incumbent Councilwoman for Belmar, New Jersey, sworn into office on June 13, 2023. Initially a political newcomer, she is now campaigning for Mayor of Belmar in the 2026 Democratic primary election. As a council liaison, her focus is on promoting Belmar's business community and protecting its natural resources. Prior to her political career, Donovan was a nationally recognized patient advocate, known for creating new protections against discrimination for pre-existing conditions and predatory billing practices. A Jersey Shore native, she is an alumna of Wall High School, Brown University, and Johns Hopkins University. She is actively involved in the Belmar community, serving on the St. Rose Parish Council, the Trishore Little League board, and the Belmar Woman's Club. She resides in Belmar with her husband and three children.
