Carol Hasse has been a resident of Jefferson County since 1975. She founded Port Townsend Sails in 1978, a business she ran for 43 years, building an international reputation for quality cruising sails. She retired in 2021. Hasse has been serving as the Port of Port Townsend Commissioner for District 2 since 2022. She is a co-founder of Port Townsend's Wooden Boat Festival and the Wooden Boat Foundation, where she served on the board for 28 years. A lifelong Washingtonian, she grew up in Camas and attended the University of Puget Sound. With over 40,000 nautical miles sailed, she holds a US Coast Guard 100-ton Master License.
