Cecelia González is a 30-year-old Thai-Mexican American and Las Vegas native, raised by immigrant parents. Her upbringing with limited resources ignited a passion for social, environmental, and economic justice. First elected to Nevada's Assembly District 16 in November 2020, she holds bachelor's and master's degrees from UNLV and is pursuing a Ph.D. in multicultural education. González actively shapes Nevada's educational landscape and advocates for issues like women's health and criminal justice reform. She serves as Chair of the Nevada Latino Legislative Caucus and previously volunteered for NARAL, Planned Parenthood, and Mass Liberation Project.
