Charles Evans is a candidate for Cumberland County Board of Commissioners At-Large in Fayetteville, North Carolina — 2026 Primary Election. Running as Democrat.

Charles Evans is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and a graduate of Terry Sanford High School and Fayetteville Technical Community College. He is a disabled veteran. Evans previously served on the Fayetteville City Council from 2005 to 2009 and as a Cumberland County Commissioner for three terms, from 2010 to 2022. During his time as commissioner, he served as Vice Chairman and Chairman of the board. He is also the executive director of a program called Life is Worth Living/Project Fresh Start. In 2022, he was a candidate for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives in North Carolina's 7th Congressional District. He also ran for mayor of Fayetteville in 2023. Evans has a past criminal conviction from 1992 related to embezzlement to support a drug habit, an experience which he says gives him a perspective on the importance of second chances.
