Chas Neff Jr. serves as an incumbent District Court Judge for North Dakota’s Northwest Judicial District No. 3. Appointed by Governor Doug Burgum in 2022 and beginning service in 2023, he is chambered in Williston and is running for re-election in the 2026 Primary. Born in 1980, Judge Neff earned his law degree from the University of St. Thomas School of Law after graduating from North Dakota State University. His legal career includes significant experience as a staff attorney for the Northwest Judicial District, McKenzie County State's Attorney, and an assistant state's attorney, alongside work for Thomson Reuters and the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations. Neff campaigns as a nonpartisan candidate, emphasizing independence, grassroots support, anti-corruption, and civility.
