Cherol J. Nellon was appointed as a judge to the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in 2018 by Governor Jerry Brown. Prior to her appointment, she served as a commissioner for the court starting in 2016. From 1997 to 2016, she was a deputy public defender in the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of West Los Angeles School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in criminology from California State University, Fullerton. She currently presides over an Independent Calendar court in the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.
