Cheryl Lyn House

Cheryl Lyn House is the current elected Register of Deeds for Dare County, North Carolina, having served in the position since 2018. Her office is responsible for recording deeds, deeds of trust, plats, and other real estate-related documents. The office also issues and maintains vital records, including birth certificates, marriage licenses, and death certificates. In 2020, House announced that the Register of Deeds office would begin accepting U.S. passport applications, expanding the services available to Dare County citizens.
