Christopher H. Smith is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for New Jersey's 4th congressional district since 1981. A member of the Republican Party, he is the dean of New Jersey's congressional delegation and one of the longest-serving members of the House of Representatives. Throughout his tenure, Smith has chaired the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe and has authored numerous pieces of legislation focused on combating human trafficking and protecting human rights.
