Christopher Todd Roper, commonly known as Todd Roper, was appointed as a District Court Judge for Judicial District 15B (now District 18), serving Chatham and Orange counties, by Governor Roy Cooper in September 2020. Before his appointment, he was a partner at the law firm Moody, Williams, Roper & Lee, LLP in Siler City and Pittsboro for over 30 years, beginning in 1989. Roper attended the University of Alabama on a football scholarship, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration in 1986. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1989. His legal practice covered a wide range of district court matters, including criminal, civil, family, and juvenile law.
