Clyde Chambliss, Jr. is an incumbent Republican member of the Alabama State Senate, representing District 30 since 2014. Born in Prattville, Alabama, he earned a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Alabama in 1992 and subsequently founded Chambliss Engineering, where he serves as Principle Engineer. Prior to the State Senate, Chambliss served three terms on the Autauga County Commission, including as chairman from 2000-2008. He is running for re-election in 2026. A strong proponent of the Human Life Protection Act, he notably sponsored legislation banning most abortions, citing a belief that human beings should not extinguish life created by God. He is active in his church community and has held various committee roles in the Senate.
