Conrad Blackburn is a public defender at the Bronx Defenders and a union organizer. He grew up in public housing in Florida, the son of a single immigrant mother. This experience shaped his political views and motivated him to pursue a career in public interest law. He moved to New York City in 2018 and became involved with the NYC Democratic Socialists of America (NYC-DSA). As a union organizer, he played a leading role in unionizing his workplace with the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys – UAW Local 2325.
