Cory V. McCray is a Democratic politician representing Maryland's 45th legislative district, which encompasses parts of northeast Baltimore City. First elected to the Maryland State Senate in 2018, he has served as the Deputy Majority Whip for the Democratic caucus since 2020. McCray began his career as an electrician by trade, completing the apprenticeship program with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 24. He furthered his education by earning an Associate of Science in business management from Baltimore City Community College and a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from the National Labor College. Prior to his tenure in the Senate, McCray served one full term in the Maryland House of Delegates from 2015 to 2019.
