He was first elected to the Senate in 2016 after serving in the Maryland House of Delegates from 2011 to 2016. Within the Senate, he has served on the Budget and Taxation Committee and as Chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus. His legislative work includes sponsoring key bills related to identity theft protection for minors and upgrading the state's 911 system. Before his tenure in the General Assembly, Zucker was a deputy chief of staff to the Maryland Comptroller and held positions with U.S. Representative Albert Wynn and Delegate Peter Franchot. He earned a master's degree in government from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor's degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College.
