Craig V. Hickman is an incumbent Democratic State Senator representing District 14 in the Maine State Senate. A writer, farmer, and politician, he was first elected to the Maine House of Representatives in 2012 and then to the Senate in a 2021 special election, making him the first Black man to serve in both chambers of the Maine Legislature. He chairs the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee and Government Oversight Committee. His past policy focus has included ending hunger, reducing regulations for small businesses, and promoting sustainable energy. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, he is a Harvard University graduate. He resides in Winthrop, Maine, and is seeking re-election in the 2026 Democratic primary.
