Cristina Legaspi was appointed to serve as a Judge in the Los Angeles County Superior Court by Governor Gavin Newsom in January 2024. Prior to her appointment, she was a Senior Deputy County Counsel in the Los Angeles County Counsel's Office, a role she held since 1999. She has also been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law since 2022. Her earlier career included positions as an associate at Weissman and Associates and at Ivie, McNeil and Wyatt in 1998. Legaspi earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of West Los Angeles School of Law. As a first-generation immigrant, she is the first in her family to become an attorney and then a judge.
