Curtis A. Kin is an incumbent judge for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, a position he has held since his appointment in 2013. He currently presides over unlimited jurisdiction civil cases and previously handled criminal matters. Before becoming a judge, he was a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California, where he served in several leadership roles, including Chief of Criminal Appeals and Chief of Domestic Security. His earlier legal career includes working as a litigation associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York and clerking for then-Judge Sonia Sotomayor on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Kin earned his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Southern California and his Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School. He has also been an adjunct professor at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law since 2003. In 2000, he was a contestant on the first season of the reality television show 'Big Brother'.
