Cynthia D Borrego

Cynthia D. Borrego is the incumbent New Mexico State Representative for District 17, first elected in November 2022 and serving since January 2023. A Democrat, she is seeking re-election in the 2026 primary. Borrego is a business owner and retired professional planner, holding degrees from the University of New Mexico. Her public service background includes an impactful term on the Albuquerque City Council from 2017-2021. As a legislator, she serves on the House Government, Elections & Indian Affairs; and Transportation, Public Works & Capital Improvements committees, also chairing the Investments & Pensions Oversight Committee. Borrego is a Latina.
