Dana M. Hackney

Dana Hackney began her career in the Chatham County Clerk's Office in 1999. She earned a paralegal degree and was certified by the NC State Bar Board of Paralegal Certification in 2015. In 2018, Hackney was appointed as the Clerk of Superior Court by Judge Carl M. Fox. She was elected to the position later that year and was re-elected in 2022. She is the 21st Clerk of Superior Court for Chatham County and the second woman to hold the office. On the state level, Hackney serves as a member of the Rules of Recordkeeping Committee at the NCAOC, and Co-Chair of the Resource Committee and a member of the Executive Committee of the Conference of Clerks of Superior Court.
