Dane Scalise

Dane Scalise is a New Hanover County Commissioner, small business owner, lawyer, and insurance broker. He grew grew up in Morganton, NC, and moved to Wilmington in 2012. Scalise is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the University of North Carolina School of Law. From 2016 to 2020, he served as Deputy Commissioner of the North Carolina Industrial Commission. He was appointed to the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners in April 2023 and was subsequently elected to a four-year term. He has also served on the boards of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, Wilmington Downtown Inc., and the New Hanover Bar Association.
