Daniel S. Murphy is an incumbent judge for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County. He was appointed to the bench in 2005 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Prior to his appointment, he served as a prosecutor for the City of Long Beach from 1987 to 2005. He earned a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1984 and a J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1987. His current term is set to end on January 4, 2027. In 2020, he was re-elected by default after the election was canceled as he was the only candidate to file.
