Danielle Gonzales is the incumbent for the Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education District 3 seat, first assuming office in January 2022 and was elected Board President in January 2024. A graduate of Valley High School within APS, she has spent over two decades in education policy and leadership. Her career began as a fourth-grade teacher and includes roles at New Mexico First, the Aspen Institute, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In October 2024, she was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Education to the National Assessment Governing Board, which oversees the Nation's Report Card. She moved back to her hometown of Albuquerque in 2020.
