Darren E. Campbell is a candidate for Iredell County Sheriff in Statesville, North Carolina — 2026 Primary Election. Running as Republican Party.

Darren Campbell was first sworn in as Sheriff of Iredell County on December 1, 2014, and is currently in his third term. He has 30 years of law enforcement experience, all with the Iredell County Sheriff's Office, where he started his career in the Detention Center in 1993. Throughout his career, he has held numerous positions including Patrol Deputy, K-9 handler, Narcotics Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, SERT Team Commander, and Major of Criminal Investigations. He holds an associate's degree in Criminal Justice and has an Advanced Training Certificate from the North Carolina Sheriff's Training and Standards Commission. He is also the President of the North Carolina Sheriffs' Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the National Sheriff's Association. He and his family are lifelong residents of Iredell County.
