Dave Rowley is an incumbent conservative Republican State Senator for Iowa's District 5, seeking re-election in 2026. Born in Cedar Rapids, he holds a psychology degree from the University of Iowa. He and his wife, Kris, have lived in Spirit Lake for 30 years, raising four children. A retired entrepreneur in real estate and insurance, he is also a professional musician and Iowa Rock N Roll Hall of Fame inductee. First elected in 2021 and re-elected in 2022, he chairs the Ethics Committee and vice-chairs Ways and Means. Rowley advocates for constitutional rights, individual liberties, family support, and common-sense solutions.
