David B. Hawk is an incumbent State Representative for Tennessee House District 5, a position he has held since 2002, making him the longest-serving current Republican in the House. A businessman, he is seeking his 13th term in the 2026 Republican primary. Hawk is a graduate of East Tennessee State University with honors in Marketing and completed an executive program at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. As Chairman of the Transportation Subcommittee, he also serves on the Finance, Ways, and Means, Private Acts, and Transportation Committees. He has actively championed initiatives like combating underage vape usage and promoting back-to-school sales tax holidays for Tennessee families. A resident of Greeneville, he is a father of two.
