David Fergus is an architect and previously served as a Fire Commissioner for Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue for ten years, stepping down on December 31, 2016. During his tenure, he cited weathering a major economic downturn, managing changes in senior staff, and replacing a significant portion of the district's fleet as key accomplishments. In 2014, while he was Board Chairman, the fire district filed an unfair labor practice complaint against the firefighters' union, alleging intimidation related to his architecture firm.
