David Lawrence Wilkerson

David Wilkerson, a Progressive Democrat, is an incumbent State Representative for Georgia's 38th District, encompassing Austell, Mableton, and Powder Springs in Cobb County. First elected in 2010, he has served on committees including Education, Juvenile Justice, Retirement, and Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight. He was the first African American to chair the Cobb County Legislative Delegation in 2018 and has held leadership roles like Democratic Whip. A CPA by profession, David graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. He advocates for affordable higher education and community well-being. He resides in Powder Springs with his wife, Penny, and their two adult children.
