A prosecutor for twenty-four years, David Solet served as Chief of the Middlesex County Cold Case Homicide Unit from 2019–2025, investigating hundreds of unsolved homicides and sex assaults, and was named Middlesex County Prosecutor of the Year in 2025. He grew up in Cambridge, graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University in 1998 and cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2001, and joined the Middlesex District Attorney's Office straight out of law school, later serving as the first Chief of the Cyber Protection Unit and as the office's General Counsel. From 2015–2019 he was Chief Legal Counsel to the Massachusetts Secretary of Public Safety. He is a Major in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve and is the father of two daughters; he now lives in Cambridge.
